The role of the postpartum doula is to support the family
after birth. Trained in lactation and formula feeding support, the postpartum doula aims to foster bonding, as well as educate and support new parents while assisting with newborn care.

An empathetic and sensitive approach, respecting the privacy of the family and recognizing the sacredness of this special time in a family's lives.

By taking care of household organization and tasks, meal
​preparation and laundry, the postpartum doula helps to alleviate feelings of being overwhelmed​, promoting a stress-free environment where parents can focus on getting to know the new baby.
Evidence shows that quality support can ease the transition that comes with the addition of a baby to the family. Having a postpartum doula's support provides reassurance, and gives the opportunity to find rest after birth; allowing you to bond with baby.

MATERNITY NURSE (OCN) UK
​​NNEB UK  

Babies 0 - 12 months of age
12 hour or 24 hour around the clock - up to 6 days per week
British qualified NNEB Maternity Nurse (OCN) provides an evidence-based approach. Includes everything from the doula package with more of a focus on care of the baby. The Maternity Nurse (OCN) NNEB, cares for the baby beyond the first 3 months and is proficient and knowledgeable about developmental milestones during the first year.

​Understands infant development and how and when to begin weaning/starting solids and sleep training - offering continued support at this stage in your baby's development. The Maternity Nurse can help to initiate an appropriate routine for the baby and the family. Cleaning bottles, sterilizing and preparing formula feeds, as well as lactation support and teaching all baby care basics; bathing, dressing, soothing etc. Provides overnight support by settling baby after feeds or giving a night bottle and soothing.

​Also experienced with colic, tongue tie and reflux in young babies. The Maternity Nurse provides reassurance, encouragement and practical solutions-focused strategies that are evidence-based with the aim to teach and build confidence and capacity in new parents.
​The Maternity Nurse also provides travelling support to families and is knowledgeable and experienced in air travel with infants.
